June
30, 2006
Eastern
Express is very excited to welcome
Brent Ferguson as the newest member
of its coaching staff. Brent (or "Ferg")
joins Eastern Express with an extensive
background in swimming as both a swimmer
and coach. In college, Brent swam for swimming
powerhouse Kenyon College, which has won
the past 27 consecutive Division III national
men's swimming championships. At Kenyon,
Brent was a member of two NCAA Division
III championship 4X50 Freestyle relays teams,
and for a long time, was part of the group
that held the record for this event at Kenyon.
More recently, Brent has been involved with
New Jersey Masters Swimming. In his "free"
time when not at the pool, Brent teaches
math at Montgomery High School.
"Ferg" will be taking
over the Per-Seniors responsibilities of
Coach Brendan Gallagher for the remainder
of the summer as Brendan moves onto the
University of Pennsylvania. Eastern Express
offers its congratulations to Brendan who
has accepted a position as the new assistant
